"Inspire to Greatness"
Did you know?
I have an MSc in Neuroscience from King’s College London. My neurodevelopmental education has provided me with a unique perspective on teaching. It was a fascinating time for understanding how new information is registered in the hippocampus, and navigated by my pre-frontal cortex (PFC). The PFC is where higher cognitive decisions are made, and this is not fully matured until 20-25 years old, hence why math problem-solving and comprehension questions can be challenging for children. In children, the PFC is often on over-drive during extensive focused learning, which can trigger other complex brain pathways such as sadness, anger and more, and may minimise learning potential.
I developed my teaching methodology based on my scientific research in neuroscience and my experience as a tutor. I specialise in topics such as memory, learning strategies, emotional well-being and more.

Learning Modalities
There are two types of learning-
1) Focused Mode
2) Diffused Mode
I provide tutoring sessions that allow students to learn in diffused mode and focused mode. My goal is to help students reach their full potential by breaking down complex concepts into simple, manageable chunks that can be easily remembered. Through this approach, I help them to achieve success in their studies, reach their academic goals and improve their well-being.

Testimonial
Michelle has been tutoring my daughter for 4 years now and my son for a year. She is an excellent tutor who ensures sessions are fun as well as educational. She always welcomes suggestions for areas to focus on and will keep on embedding a topic until she is confident that the child has it in their long-term memory rather than rushing through topics. Michelle was an integral part of my daughter’s success at 7+ assessments as she really focused on math's problem-solving skills which two years on, are still areas that my daughter is strongest in.
